What a year!!
2024 has been quite a year for me. There’ve been lots of changes, loads of challenges, and some magical experience. This time last year, I was in the middle of driving all the way from Seattle to Guadalajara! Check out the 5-part video clip story here. I expect to head back to Mexico again sometime in the next month. Driving to and from Mexico was a fabulous adventure, but I think I’ll fly this year . I can’t wait to get back down there to start making music with all the talented musicians there and for the lovely audiences there!
This past summer/fall I had the pleasure of performing all over the Pacific Northwest and even across the country. Among other locations, I performed in Oregon, Washington, Winlock, Renton, Bothell, Bellevue, Gig Harbor, Lacey, Burien, Kirkland, Ellensburg, my beloved Whidbey Island, Seattle, and so many towns in between. I enjoyed each one of these private parties, weddings, cruises, library performances, public park concerts, retirement home shows, golf tournaments and every other type of performance that you can think of. Thank you everyone for trusting me with your events and to the amazing people who attended and shared in the music! I hope YOU, dear reader, had a chance to attend at least one of these shows, and I hope the experience brought you joy.
One of the most memorable performances this past summer was when I randomly got hired to go to Manhattan, Kansas to play at a fundraiser for the Kansas State University Gardens. It was a whirlwind trip, since I performed there on a Friday night and had a performance on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle on Saturday night. But in that short time I met so many fabulous people! One of them was the legendary college football coach Bill Snyder. He’s got a stadium and a highway named after him and won numerous awards in the world of football, but he is just a lovely, down-to-earth fellow! Also, I was also pretty darn close to the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, an area from where my grandparents hail. I’ve been all over the country performing, but I’ve never been to Oklahoma. I hope I have time to make that trip the next time I’m in Kansas… or maybe someone in Tulsa wants to bring me over for a show?
